Pantocrator Film Studio logotype design
For Pantocrator Film Studio a new logo was designed.
Pantocrator has its name with religious roots. Pantocrator means “Omnipotent” and has a reference to Jesus Christ.
Company’s logo already existed when we started our work with this client. The logo was a drawn hand of Jesus Christ taken from a one special icon.
The new logo is drawn much better. It is right from anatomy’s point of view and good for printing because has no thin lines.
Designer: Oh, that would be a challenge if I hadn’t taken icon painting courses
Art-Director: You took what?!
First version was rejected by the client.
But the client said that this version is too explicit. He wanted to see something with hidden, concealed details, to make an onlooker to stop and analyse it.
The second version is a bit worse on our opinion, but it was exactly what client expected to see.
Designer: To make this effect we gotta remove all borders and start with black lines of red background. It won’t be good fo printing, but as you wish
Art-Director: Fingers are like a mummy’s hand. Need more iterations to fix
Now ok. And we can’t do it better in this genre.
Working with text. In original logo the text is a nightmare. ITC Souvenir typeface, one of the worst fonts in the world. Letter C is from Times New Roman, alpha and omega are wrong at all!
Making an explanation for the client why he needs to accept this new version. Preparing several cases to let him choose.
Hopefully, client agrees with our fixes.
The second version was approved.
